Daily Mail की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक इस पनीर को गधी के दूध से बनाया जाता है, हालांकि ये सामान्य गधे नहीं बल्कि सर्बिया में पाए जाने खास प्रजाति के गधे ‘बाल्कन’ के दूध से तैयार किया जाता है, इस ख़ास किस्म के पनीर का उत्पादन हर देश में नहीं किया जाता है, ‘प्यूल चीज़’ को सर्बिया के ‘ज़साविका स्पेशल नेचर रिजर्व’ में तैयार किया जाता है, इसे बनाने के लिए 60 फीसदी बाल्कन गधी का दूध और 40 फीसदी बकरी का दूध मिलाया जाता है और फिर ये प्रोसेस करके बनाया जाता है, 1 किलोग्राम पनीर बनाने के लिए बाल्कन गधी के 25 लीटर ताज़े दूध की ज़रूरत होती है।
