Effective Ways to Remove Holi Colours
without Harming Skin & Hair

Take Care of your Hair
Friends, before you use a shampoo, rinse
your hair with water to allow the additional colors to wash it off. It is
extremely vital to condition your hair to prevent any hair damage. Make a
simple hair pack by soaking a few fenugreek (Methi) seeds in four tablespoon of
curd. Apply this pack or an egg yolk on your scalp and wash your hair with a
good shampoo after 30 minutes. You can also apply a mixture of honey and olive
oil for deep conditioning. Enjoy Holi!!!!

Otherwise, to remove Holi colors, you can use an
herbal shampoo or the one made at home. All you have to do is soak Shikakai,
Reetha and Amla or Indian gooseberry overnight. In the morning, boil and strain
it. Guys do not forget to apply oil to your hair before you play Holi. If you
do so, it won’t be a hell of a task to wash your hair off. Otherwise, you can
also remove colors from your hair with lemon. Take 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
and mix it in one cup of curd. Apply it evenly on your scalp and wash your hair
with a mild shampoo and enjoy beautiful Holi.

Use Cleanser to wash Hair

Friends, it is safe and absolutely effective to
apply cleanser on your face. Since cleanser is rich in lemon and Aloe Vera
content, it can easily help to remove Holi colors. You can even apply Cetaphil
cleansers and antiseptic cream and get rid of the colors spotted in Holi.
Best tips for skin care at Holi
To get 100% clear, for the next two weeks, apply a
Multani Mitti face pack every alternate day to ensure that your skin remains
soft and supple. Also, do not go for any skin treatments like waxing,
threading, facials, or apply any other external medication on the skin for two
to three days after Holi. Your skin is very sensitive after Holi, so these
treatments may cause an adverse reaction, be careful.

Remain tender with your body
Dear friends, you can use a homemade scrub by mixing
well the following ingredients- two tablespoons of wheat bran (choker), one
tablespoon of sandalwood powder, one tablespoon of rice flour, along with some
poppy seeds (Khus-khus), few drops of honey and a mashed tomato. Scrub your
body with this to clear off the colors and to bounce back to your fair and
glowing skin. You can also rub a piece of papaya on colored areas of the face
and body to get rid of the colors. There is another good body scrub you can use
to wash off colors. Mix with curd, Besan, orange-peel powder along with little
turmeric, a few drops of lemon and one tablespoon of olive oil. This will help
to clean your skin safely.

Use Glycerin at body at Holi
Friends, when you go out in open to play Holi, you
are bound to be surrounded by a lot of dust and dirt. In fact, sometimes, the
colors even if they are herbal ones, can cause itchiness to your skin. All you
have to do is mix some glycerin and rose water and apply this cool mixture on
your face and skin wherever you feel like. After this rinse your skin with
lukewarm water and there you go as previous!

Face packs according to your skin type
Friends, do not scrub the color off with soap. Opt
for a mild cleanser and follow it up with a lot of moisturizing cream. If you
feel any skin irritation during the process of removing the Holi colors, then
take two teaspoon of calamine powder and mix it with a few drops of honey and
rose water to make a paste. Apply this on your face and once it has dried up,
wash it off with water and apply a moisturizer. You can also take off the color
with a mixture of Besan and milk. If you are unable to do anything else, simply
apply a generous amount of Multani-Mitti on the entire face and body to revive
your skin beauty.

1. For Normal Skin: Take two tablespoons of Masoor Daal and
mix it in one tablespoon of flour. Make a paste by adding rose water and a
pinch of Haldi. Keep it on your face for 10 minutes and wash it off
with running water.
2. For Dry Skin: use mixture of one tablespoon of soybean flour
in milk. Add glycerin and a pinch of sea salt to make a paste. Scrub your face
with this paste for 5-8 minutes and wash it off with running water.

3. For Oily Skin: Friends, mix two tablespoons of Multani-Mitti in
glycerin and water to make a paste. Keep it on your face for 15 minutes and wash
it off. Alternatively, prepare a paste of Multani Mitti and
orange juice for your face. Wash it off after a while to have a color-free
skin.

Don’t stay in wet clothes for long
Friends, this is one
simple precautionary measure which you must follow this Holi. Staying in
hydrated clothes for long can lead to two things- first it can lead to rashes
as prolonged moisturized skin can cause rashes on your skin. And secondly, wet
clothes also lead to the seeping of colors in your skin easily. Hence, it would
be tough to remove the colors after you’ve enjoyed the whole day. It must be
mentioned here that if colors seep into the pores of your skin, then it can
lead to other harmful effects as colors are, after all, highly adulterated and
mixed with chemicals. So all in all, try not be draped in your wet clothes for
long to protect your hair and skin this Holi.

Stay all day Keep hydrated
Friends, this is a very
effective way to curb the side effects of playing Holi and its colors. While
playing Holi and being out of your house for the whole, you might forget to
drink water, and as a result, your body becomes dehydrated, and skin
becomes water deficient. This leads to higher possibilities of getting bad tans
and your energy level might also get down!!!

Enjoy Happy Holi!!!
